Story Line |

Homi Mistry (Ashok Kumar) has been a widower for several years now, and looks after his four sons, their small house, and a job at the factory. Nargis Sethna has been widowed; is a housewife, has two sons and a daughter, and a large house. Then Soli (David), Nargis' and Homi's friend, suggests that the two get married, then at least the children will have a mother and father, as well as a larger house. They do get married, and hilarious chaos results, as the family and the children try to accommodate each other and fit in with their new family and surroundings.
Basu Chatterji, the maker who directed Ashok Kumar in popular hits like Khatta Meetha and Shaukeen also talks of Dadamoni's many talents--as a painter, singer, sportsman, homeopath and linguist. "He would have shone in any field," Basuda asserts. He also applauds his commitment. "We were shooting at Panchgani for Khatta Meetha and just before we were about to wind up our schedule there, Dadamoni fell seriously ill. He was running a high temperature and the doctor advised him not to stir from bed. But realising that work would be held up, Dadamoni insisted on tottering to the sets and giving his shots. 'I can do it, I will do it,' he'd chant. And he did it," Basuda narrates, his admiration and affection for his friend all too evident.
